MULTI TASKS JOBS SHOULD BE RESTARTABLE/RESUMABLE AFTER A STEP FAILURE (Doc ID 2449014.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 19, 2022

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Version 13.2.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

OEM 13.2

Using Multi-task job, with the following setting:

* Retry option

* Different targets for different tasks

* All tasks (except the first one) have the On Success condition

* Automatic Attempts = 1

When the Multi-Task job is executed, the first job succeeds, however the second job fails for an issue with a jdk version.  The failure can be for any reason depending on the script requirements.

In this case, the jdk version is fixed and the job is re-submited expecting that the job would execute from the failed step forward.

What actually occurred was the entire job, including the tasks that succeeded were executed again.

The desired outcome was for the job to execute from the failed step forward because the first step was successful.
