EM13c: After Applying Agent Jul 2018 Bundle Patch Receiving Alerts for Host Target "Java.lang.StackOverflowError"

Symptoms
After Applying Patch - 28216294 [EM-AGENT bundle patch 13.2.0.0.180731] the following Metric Evaluation Error Alert for the monitored Host target
"Java.lang.StackOverflowError"
The issue persists despite applying any later Agent Bundle Patches.
Patch 28533438: EM-AGENT Bundle Patch 13.2.0.0.180930 (Sep 2018)
Patch 28373706: EM-AGENT Bundle Patch 13.2.0.0.180831 (Aug 2018)
Rolling back these Agent Bundle Patches will resolve the issue.
Manually invoking metric computation of the "NetworkInterfacePerformance" metric at the agent (using the emctl getmetric command) gives the same error:
The following entries are seen in the agent's logs
