EM12c/13c Cloud Control Generic Services: Port Checker Test - How to Receive Problem Port Numbers in Email Notifications (Doc ID 2580870.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 19, 2023

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager for Fusion Middleware - Version 12.1.0.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

EM Cloud Control 12c/13c

Create a Port Checker generic service to do TCP port monitoring, and create an incident ruleset to fire when the port is found closed.

The Port Checker test allows the user to specify multiple ports to monitor.

However, when the alert fires the Port Checker test does not say which port died / is not available. Instead, only a generic message is provided in notifications, like:

Target Type: Generic Service
Target Name: MyPortCheckerTest
Message: MyPortTest from MyHost Beacon is Down
...
Event Name: port_sweeper:status
