EM Backup Job Fails With ORA-19550 When DB Target Is Using Shared Server (former MTS) (Doc ID 2584391.1)

Symptoms

When a RAC database target is configured with Shared Server (former MTS), aka as DISPATCHERS, the Enterprise Manager RMAN Database Backup job fails with RMAN-03002 and ORA-19550 in job Step: Backup.

RMAN-03002: failure of backup command at 08/06/2019 14:05:46
ORA-19550: cannot use backup/restore functions while using dispatcher

Changes

1- The database target is configured with Shared Server (former MTS), as in the example below

    SQL> show parameters dispatcher

            dispatchers  string  (PROTOCOL=TCP)

2- The database DB target's "Preferred Connect String" property in EM is set to DEDICATED, as in the example below:

    DESCRIPTION=(LOAD_BALANCE=ON)(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=hostname)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=raccdb)))
