How to locate/re-configure BI Publisher Shared Storage Locations (Cluster and Config Volumes) in Enterprise Manager 12c/13c (Doc ID 2620242.1)

Last updated on JUNE 12, 2023

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Version 12.1.0.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The Goal is to configure and/or re-configure the Business Intelligence Publisher (BIP) Shared Storage for BIP that comes pre-configured with Enterprise Manager (EM).

Background:
Shared Storage of the BIP file-based repository is a requirement for EM High Availability (EMHA) configurations to allow each OMS to access a common repository of reports and configuration selections.  This information is outlined in detail in the Oracle Technology Network Documentation located at:

Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Advanced Installation and Configuration Guide
Chapter 22 BI Publisher High Availability
Section 22.2 Manually Configuring BI Publisher to Use a Shared Storage Device

Qualifying Situations:
You may have a requirement to relocate the Shared Storage to a new NFS Mount Point, began setting up an EMHA Configuration but decide to maintain a single-instance configuration, etc.,.  This document endeavors to assist in this configuration.

NOTE: If you are keeping your EMHA Configuration, DO NOT use the option below to To Relocate BIP Shared Storage to a local filesystem since Shared Storage is needed for all OMSes to access the BIP repository.
