ASM Target Shown as Down after Fresh Provisioning From EM Cloud Control (Doc ID 2690115.1)

Symptoms

After fresh provisioning of a new Grid Infrastructure with ASM from Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c, the ASM targets newly added are shown as down due to the wrong password being supplied in the monitoring configuration. The ASMSNMP password specified at the provisioning time was not set at the ASM Instance level and will not match with the one set in the Monitoring configuration.

After manually setting the ASMSNMP password at the instance level (alter user asmsnmp identified by “XXX”), the target will be marked as up.
