Symptoms

Enterprise Manager (EM) 13.3 Cloud Control

The "DOWNLOAD_AND_RECOMMEND_SYSTEM_PATCH_JOB" job downloads already purged Exa* patches during the next job run even when they are not the latest.

This job is for the "Exadata and other Engineered systems" patch recommendations and downloads.

Consequently, the Software Library will keep growing and new additional space will need to be added to accommodate new patches as they are published.

Exa* patches are generally large in size (~20-30GB), so the added size of obsolete patch elements is not trivial.
