Unable to set up audit logging for a newly discovered Weblogic domain

Able to add a weblogic domain on a remote weblogic server , to OEM via the auto-discovery tool and it shows up as healthy
However, we are unable to see any weblogic logs under Audit Data coming from the domain and when trying to manage settings of the domain e.g. navigating to Weblogic Domain -> Administration -> General Settings -> a page is shown prompting for Login to Oracle Weblogic Domain. Upon entering the admin server credentials (which was verified to be accurate) the error that appears is "Login failed. Error connecting to the Server. Make sure that WebLogic connection information and the credentials entered are correct."
Tried with the admin server login credentials and also created a new weblogic account on the remote server but it doesn't work when we supply it to OEM.
Want set up audit logging for that newly discovered domain as such, but unable to find or modify the settings now:
1. Access EM
2. Select the domain from the navigation tree, and use the dropdown to select 'WebLogic Domain' -> 'Security' -> 'Audit Policy'
3. Select 'Oracle Platform Security Services' from the 'Audit Component Name' dropdown
4. Beneath 'Audit Policy Settings' section, select 'Custom' from the 'Audit Level' dropdown
5. Once it is enabled, click the 'Audit All Events' button and ensure every checkbox is selected under the 'Select For Audit' column of the policy category table. Click 'Apply'
