EM 13.4: How To Enable And Use 'Execute SQL' Jobs (Doc ID 2726804.1)

Last updated on JUNE 13, 2024

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager for Oracle Database - Version 13.4.1.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The 'Execute SQL' is a new job type introduced in OEM 13.4. Unlike 'SQL Script' job, this job type does NOT use 'host credentials' to run a given SQL query on the target database.
The 'Execute SQL' jobs directly connects to the target database using ONLY 'database credentials' and executes SQL queries or PL/SQL blocks. Some customers complain that this job actually never executes.

This document shows how to enable this feature on OMS before using 'Execute SQL' jobs.
