How to Relink the 10g and 11g Enterprise Manager Grid Control Agent on Unix (Doc ID 273189.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 23, 2019

Generic Linux
Generic UNIX

This document explains how a 10g / 11g Grid Control Agent can be relinked on a Unix/Linux platform.

Manually relink of the Agent binaries should not be required under most circumstances and is usually suggested when the following occur:

- An OS upgrade has occurred.
- A change has been made to the OS system libraries. This can occur during the application of an OS patch.
- New Agent install failed during the relinking phase.
- The Agent core dumps during initial startup and there is a suspicion that the initial installation itself may be faulty, etc.

The procedures described herein apply to the 10.1.0.X, 10.2.0.X and 11.1.0.X Agents.

Note that Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control components, like the Management Agent, do not require relinking after the types of changes noted in the Purpose section.
