EM 13c DB_CLONE : How To Clone Non Multitenant Databases To Multitenant Database As Pluggable DB Using Enterprise Manager (Doc ID 2740872.1)

Purpose

"db_clone_management" verb is used to clone non non container databases as a pluggable database in another container Using Enterprise Manager and also this can be done via emcli verb and GUI option available.

Scope

Customers can use this method "db_clone_management" method for migrating their non multi tenant databases to a multi tenant as pluggable database. This is highly recommended method for migrating databases less than 500GB.Steps outlined in this document are applicable for Enterprise Manager users migrating a non container database to a pluggable database in another container using createFullClonePDB method.

a. This method can be used to migrating non-multitenant to multitenant database as pluggable.
b. This method can not be used to migrate multitenant database to new multitenant database.
c. This method can be used for migration of databases across versions.
