How To Migrate Databases Using Migration Workbench With Method "DATAPUMP" From OEM (Doc ID 2792168.1)

Purpose

Migration workbench is used to migrate database or schemas from lower version database to higher version database using "DATAPUMP" method using Enterprise Manager. 

Scope

Migration Method using "DATAPUMP"  method is suggested for customers who would like to migrate full database or individual schemas from lower database version to higher database version. This is highly recommended method for migrating databases of small to medium size.

Data Pump supports the following modes in Database Migration Workbench for loading and unloading portions of the database to be migrated:

  1. Full Database Mode: In this mode, the entire content of the source database is moved to the File Dump and loaded into the target database.
  2. Schema Mode        : In this mode, only objects owned by the specified schema are moved to the File Dump and later loaded.

 

Steps outlined in this document are applicable for Enterprise Manager users migrating full database or individual schemas another database using "DATAPUMP" method.

a. This method can be used to migrating full database from lower version to higher database version.
b. This method can be used to migrating individual schemas in database from lower version to higher database version.
