Purpose

Rolling upgrade is a centralized mechanism for Upgrading primary and standby databases using Enterprise Manager (EM). It is implemented using the new DBMS_ROLLING PL/SQL package, which allows you to upgrade the database software in an Oracle Data Guard configuration in a rolling fashion.

Scope

 Steps outlined in this document are applicable for Upgrading the primary and standby databases using Graphical User Interface from EM. This is applicable from 12.5 and  higher.
