13.5: Applying RU on the OMS Fails After Providing SYS Password With Error: Password should not start with a number or a special character (Doc ID 2877208.1)

Symptoms

While applying/analyzing a patch on the 13.5 OMS, after providing the SYS password, it fails with the error:

$omspatcher apply -analyze

A valid password must be specified. Password should be alpha numeric only and can contain the following special characters: $, # , _ .
Password should not start with a number or a special character.

Recommended actions: Please verify the error details and try again.
