What is FIPS 140-2 Standard?
The Federal Information Processing Standard Publication 140-2, (FIPS 140-2), is a U.S. government computer security standard used to approve cryptographic modules. The standard provides four increasing qualitative levels of security, simply named Level 1 to Level 4, intended to cover a wide range of potential applications and environments.
