Listener Response Metric status "Failed to tnsping <Listener_Name>" (Doc ID 2972950.1)

Symptoms

From EM 13c Console, Listener status shows Down.  Running Getmetric for Listener Response metric from target agent server fails with error 'Failed to tnsping <Listener_Name>'.

Navigation Path:

Login to OEM --> Targets --> All Targets --> Click on 'Listener' from left panel under Databases --> Click on the listener showing status down

 

 On target agent server, getmetric for listener fails with 'Failed to tnsping <Listener_Name>' error.
