OMS 10.2 AS Console Creates Large Number of Defunct Processes on Unix (Doc ID 391894.1)

Symptoms

After starting the AS Console:

emctl start iasconsole


a large number of defunct processes are created (e.g. spawned at a rate of one process every 30 seconds).

 

These may eventually consume so much memory and cpu that the overall performance of the host machine will degrade.

An example defunct process is given below:

 

Changes

The issue only becomes apparent after applying patchset 10.2.0.2 or 10.2.0.3
