Enterprise Manager Console UI: Accessing the Grid Console / Cloud Control Console/Agent Metric Browser shows "Certificate Errors" (Doc ID 437660.1)

Symptoms

When trying to access the Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Console (12c or 13c), or Grid Control Console (10g or 11g) with https url, the following error is reported for the security certificate:

Below is an example of what is displayed in the Internet Explorer browser:

 

This may also occur when trying to access the Metric Browser for a Grid Agent running in https

Clicking on the 'Continue to this Website (not recommended)' displays the Console homepage or the Agent's metric browser, but this has to be done each time the page is launched newly.
