Critical Alert Raised in Grid Control With Error : Failed To Connect To Database Instance ORA-12519 (Doc ID 456700.1)

Symptoms

In Grid Control navigate to:

TARGETS > DATABASES > [ Select Database Target ] > Related Links : Metric Collection Errors

The following metric error is reported:

Target Name=<DATABASE_NAME>
Target Type=Database Instance
Host=<HOSTNAME>
Metric=Status
Metric Value=0
Timestamp=4/07/2007 16:22:52 EST
Severity=Critical
Message=Failed to connect to database instance: ORA-12519: TNS:no appropriate service handler
found (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach).
Notification Rule Name=Database Availability and Critical States
Notification Rule Owner=SYSMAN

In the <AGENT_ORACLE_HOME>/sysman/emagent.trc file, the following error is logged:
