DST Compliance for Grid Control 10g OMS, Repository and Agents
(Doc ID 457792.1)
Last updated on SEPTEMBER 29, 2022
Applies to:
Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Version 10.1.0.2 to 11.1.0.1 [Release 10.1 to 11.1] Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
One of the mountain timezone formats expired at the end of 2020. As a result, the DST v4 that was included in 10.2.0.4 is no longer current. Please note that 10.2.0.4-11.1.0.7 may now need updates for any DST compliance.
The terminal versions for 10.2.0.4 was dstv15, for 10.2.0.5 dstv20. There are also dst v20 patches available for 11.1..0.x
In any circumstance, users are advised to upgrade to a current version of Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, patched to the latest release update:
For the latest Release Update patch: <Note 822485.1> Master Note for Enterprise Manager Proactive Patch Program
This is a supplementary note to aid one in updating Oracle Grid Control components for DST compliance.
This note applies to DST affected zones. If you are monitoring servers outside of these areas, you do not need to execute the routines in this note. However, if Grid Control is located outside of these territories and it is monitoring a server within these zones, you will need to follow this note. Grid Control needs to be aware of the new transition times in theses areas.
Since there are many versions of Oracle Grid Control (and now Cloud Control) in the field, the newer versions should already contain any DST changes since 2007. Some companies have policies that prevent upgrading to latest version due to application compatibility, security issues, certifications, etc. This note holds true to the old products which have retired. If you cannot determine if your product is DST certified in the region that you are monitoring a server in, please contact support with Grid Control and agent version numbers for them to confirm the issue is resolved or if a patch is needed.
