This bulletin explains how the Application Server Control (ASC) collects component metrics and determines component status.
ASC monitors and manage many different targets (eg. ias, oc4j, webcache, apache, etc).
Each target can display various Metrics and its Status.
This note examines how two (ias and webcache) targets' metrics are collected and displayed via the ASC Console.
This bulletin is intended for customers and support engineers who in their daily work need to troubleshoot issues where the Application Server Control reports incorrect components status or incorrect metrics.
Engineers should be able to apply information from this note to troubleshoot other targets.
