Symptoms

Local Agent on Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise x64-bit with SQL Server 2005 (64-bit), Dual-Core AMD
Processor
Using the microsoft sql server plug in Release 6 (3.2.3.1.0)

Successfully imported the Microsoft SQL Server plug-in onto Grid Control.
Successfully deployed the Agent onto the Microsoft SQL Server plug-in.

Clicking on the Deployed Agent, from the Agent Home Page, select to Add Microsoft SQL Server, enter:

Name: <Host>_SQLServer

                      JDBC URL:           jdbc:sqlserver://<hostname.domain>:1433
                    JDBC Driver:           com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
          Database Username:           sa
          Database Password:           ***************

generates the following error:
