How to find the IP Address of the Grid Control Management Server (OMS) (Doc ID 734146.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 06, 2020

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Version 10.2.0.2 to 10.2.0.5 [Release 10.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This document describes how to find the IP Address of the Grid Control Management Server.
The Grid Control OMS is usually defined in the format <fully qualified hostname>:<port>.
Example can be: myhost.mydomain:4889
The use of the hostname provides the ability to change the IP Address of the host where the Grid Control OMS is installed without breaking the Grid Control functionality. You just need to stop the OMS, change the IP address then restart the OMS.

However in some cases like in the Configuration of the MOM Connector, we need to know the IP address of the Grid Control OMS to enable IP-based Authentication which is a requirement for the connector configuration.
