Agent Restarts with (errno=24: Too Many Open Files). (Doc ID 798071.1)

Symptoms

Grid  Agent crashes/restarts  every few hours although there are no health check or VM size problems with the agent.
Noticed noticed following error lines from agent logs/trc files.

AGENT_HOME/sysman/log/emagent.trc

2009-03-05 22:34:37,831 Thread-59523077 ERROR command: Error initializing stdout pipes: (errno=24: Too many open files)
2009-03-05 22:34:37,831 Thread-59523077 ERROR engine: [host,njcmmgqa01.smbcgroup.com,Network] : nmeegd_GetMetricData failed : Unable to run the process
2009-03-05 22:34:37,831 Thread-59523077 WARN collector: <nmecmc.c> Error exit. Error message: Unable to run the process
2009-03-05 22:34:37,831 Thread-59523077 DEBUG upload: nmehursf_Rowset_write Opened rowset file errors.dat


Right after appearing these error messages in emagent.trc file agent (emagent)  process die after few seconds.
