Grid Control Agent Restarts Due to Error "rawdata<n>.dat is more than 24 hours old" (Doc ID 822448.1)

Last updated on MARCH 04, 2019

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Version to [Release 10.2 to 11.1]
Linux x86

Symptoms Grid Agent restarts at regular intervals with the following error in the <AGENT_HOME>/sysman/log/emagent.nohup file:

Timestamp (2009,02,03,13,45,34) of file <AGENT_HOME>/ismprdb02c/sysman/emd/upload/rawdata6.dat is more than 24 hours old. Current Time is Tue Jun 15 19:45:04 2010----- Tue Jun 15 19:45:04 2010::Received restart request from EMAgent : 29833 -----
----- Tue Jun 15 19:45:04 2010::Stopping EMAgent : 29833 -----

This error will occur if the difference between the current timestamp and the timestamp in the rawdata<n>.dat file mentioned in the error, is more than 24 hours. For example, the error shows:

- Timestamp in the rawdata6.dat is Feb 03 13:45:34 2009
- Current Time: Jun 15 19:45:04 2010

As the timestamp difference between the above values is more than 24 hours, the Agent is re-started by the watchdog.
