"emctl status agent" Command Results "File Handles Exhausted" (Doc ID 956554.1)

Upgrading agent to on Sun Solaris SPARC (64-bit).
Noticing errors related to a 'File Handles Exhausted'.

For example, upon issuing the command: emctl status agent, the following would appear:

Collection Status: File handles exhausted

2009-06-02 10:38:38,868 Thread-195 ERROR upload: ERROR: nmehursf_Rowset_write - lfiopn failed -2
2009-06-02 10:38:39,082 Thread-195 ERROR upload: Agent has run into EMFILE error when trying to
open a file. This could leak to discrepancy between agent's state in memory and state in files.
Please investigate and fix the cause of the too many open file issue and restart agent
2009-06-02 10:38:39,083 Thread-195 ERROR upload: Error happened in nmehursf_Rowset_write:lfiopn,
error = 24: Too many open files for ttypvers.dat
2009-06-02 10:38:39,083 Thread-195 ERROR upload: nmehursf_logError:lfiflu failed -2 ttypvers.dat
