A Warning Message when Exporting from Financial Reporting (FR) to MS Office 2007

The purpose of this bulletin is to show that this is not a security concern and does not designate a corrupted file.

MS Office is warning you of a file format that is different than the expected extension assigned to it.


Please be aware of the following warning message and actions to take.

This is a notification of an expected behavior when you export a report from Financial Reporting to MS Office 2007. It affects all releases of Financial Reporting that support MS Office 2007.  Affected releases are 9.3.1 and above.

In Workspace, when you export a Financial Reporting document to an MS Office format including Excel, Word, or PowerPoint, using MS Office 2007, you will receive the following warning:

"The file you are trying to open, <filename>, is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?"
