Information in this document applies to any platform.
Messages found in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) HsvEventlog or System Messages like:
- Error "Unable to QI the IHsvClusterController object on the remote server"
- Error "The RPC server is unavailable."
- "Primary server has changed. Clearing all cached cubes."
HFM application users may also report application slowness or that the application stopped responding for several minutes.
The reference to a primary server refers to the HFM application server that started a specific HFM application first. The primary server is responsible for application integrity by controlling application updates. In a multiple HFM application server implementation, all other HFM application servers communicate with the primary server when performing updates. This server-to-server communication uses DCOM. When multiple HFM applications exist in a multiple HFM application server implementation, the primary server may be different for each HFM application.
