In Smartview HsGetTexT Function Returns NULL Instead of #MISSING Value (Doc ID 1066902.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 08, 2019

Applies to:

Hyperion Financial Management - Version to [Release 9.2 to 11.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

If the SmartView HsGetText function, whose target cell has never yet been queried in Financial Management (FM), is executed, it will return NULL instead of "#Missing".  Furthermore, if the database is Oracle Server, the Ora-00942 error will be logged by the Financial Management.

Example with the sample application Statutory on Oracle Database.

1. In FM, Create the Statutory sample application.
2. In SmartView, create a connection which connects to Statutory then name it "Stat".
3. In Excel, connect to "Stat" and insert the HsGetText into Cell A1 as follows:

=HsGetText("Stat","Scenario#Actual;Year#2001;Period#January;View#<Scenario View>;Entity#[None];Value#<Entity Currency>;Account#[None];ICP#[ICP None];Custom1#[None];Custom2#[None];Custom3#[None];Custom4#[None]")

4. After executing Refresh, the function returns "NULL" instead of such keywords as "#Missing". Besides this, an error entry that includes "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist" is inserted into Windows Application Event Log by Financial Management
