When Opening Business Rules EAS Error "Error Connecting To Planning Server" (Doc ID 1083907.1)

Symptoms

When trying to open an existing business rule in EAS or trying to associate the location to the Planning server, the following error occurs.

Error connecting to planning server
Detail:Exception occurred. Please Check your log file for details.

In hbrserver.log the following error message is recorded:

"WARN [ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)' com.hyperion.hbr.plugin.planning.PlanningMetadataElement - Error connecting to Planning server <Planningservername>:11333.
2010-03-10 16:22:29,456 WARN [ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)' com.hyperion.hbr.plugin.planning.PlanningMetadata - Error connecting to Planning server <Planningservername>.


In registry.log the following informationcan be found:

[[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] ERROR com.hyperion.hit.registry.LogicalWebAppComponentImpl - Unable to resolve host name <Planningservername>java.net.UnknownHostException: <Planningservername>: <Planningservername>"
