Discoverer Desktop Does Not Read The Settings From Windows Registry For A Restricted User (Doc ID 1239763.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Discoverer - Version 10.1.2.0.2 to 11.1.1.3.0 [Release 10.1.2 to 11g]
Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
***Checked for relevance on 29-Apr-2013***

Symptoms

When logged in as a restricted user in Microsoft Windows, Discoverer Desktop does not read Discoverer settings which have been specifically set in Microsoft Windows Registry under :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Oracle\Discoverer 10\
or
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Oracle\Discoverer 11\

For example, "UseOptimizerHints=1" value has been added in Microsoft Windows Registry under :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Oracle\Discoverer 11\Database\UseOptimizerHints=1

But Discoverer Desktop does not use the optimizer hints.
However, when logged in as Administrator user in Microsoft Windows,  Discoverer Desktop reads the above Registry values correctly.
