Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.x) Plus/Viewer Logins And Navigation Error With 'Failure Of Server Apache Bridge ...' (Doc ID 1271660.1)

Symptoms

After a new installation of Discoverer  11g (11.1.1.3.0 ) on Linux, when you try to connect via the Discoverer Plus or Viewer URL's using the WebCache or Orache HTTP Server (OHS) port, it errors with:

Failure of server APACHE bridge:
------------------------------------------------------------
 No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or
 idempotent set to OFF.
 ----------------------------------------------------------




At times the error appears immediately after entering the connect information, at other times the error appears when the URL is entered.

Connecting directly using the WebLogic Managed Server port for Discoverer (WLS_DISCO) works fine.

Changes

  1. Install WebLogic Server 11g R1 (10.1.3.3)
  2. Install but do no configure – FMW 11.1.1.2
  3. Install FMW 11.1.1.3 with patch set installer
  4. Configure products by running
  5. Run config.sh
  6. Attempt to connect
