HFM Intercompany Transaction Load With Option Merge Fails with "Error An Unknown error has occurred." (Doc ID 1274043.1)

When trying to upload a file with IC Transaction with the option MERGE, the load aborts with the following error message:-

An Unknown error has occurred.

The following error information is then seen:

Num: (0x80040e07) File: CHsvDSICM.cpp; Line: 9018; Ver:;
Num: (0x80040e07) File: CHsvICM.cpp; Line: 3264; Ver:;
Num: (0x80040e07) File: CHsvICACM.cpp; Line: 7437; Ver:;
Num: (0x80040e07) File: ACMAsyncProcessing.cpp; Line: 797; Ver:;

In HsvEventLog.log file the following information is recorded:

File: CHsvDSICM.cpp Version: Line: 9184 Error: (-2147217913)(0x80040E07)(Data or literal value could not be converted to the type of the column in the data source, and the provider was unable to determine which columns could not be converted. Data overflow or sign mismatch was not the cause.)
