Symptoms
You have installed OBIEE 11g, and biserver1 starts. But when you run:
from the command line, OBIPS does not start (although all other components do start). You see the following error in the nqserver.log file:
[2010-12-29T13:46:50.000+00:00] [OracleBIServerComponent] [ERROR:1] [] [] [ecid: 00hxmCLbb4yFw0zmbr013z0^n9y1zX2x200023w000007] [tid: 2078] [nQSError: 43126] Authentication failed: invalid user/password.
Also you see these errors in the sawlog.log file:
[2010-12-31T13:44:14.000+01:00] [OBIPS] [ERROR:1] [] [saw.sawserver.initializesawserver] [ecid: ] [tid: ] Could not create a system user connection to Oracle BI Server during start-up. Please check the error message and try again.
Authentication Failure.
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLDriverConnectW).
State: 08004. Code: 10018. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: 08004] [nQSError: 10018] Access for the requested connection is refused.
