OBIEE 11g: The User Name and Password for SMTP Mail Server Configuration Cannot be Removed from Enterprise Manager

Information in this document applies to any platform.
When you set up an e-mail alert using the following steps:
Set up email in Enterprise Manager >Deployment > Email
Type in user name and password,
Remove user name and password.
Click apply and re-start the server.
The user name and password you removed re-appear in EM.
