The FMw 11g Upgrade Assistant Fails On Discoverer With 'UPGCMP-00046 - Component DISCOVERER is not present in app_registry' (Doc ID 1296381.1)

Symptoms

When running the Fusion Middleware 11g Upgrade assistant to upgrade a Discoverer 10g installation to Discoverer 11g, the upgrade assistant is marked 'failed' on the Discoverer component.

The upgrade assistant logs contain the following error:

[2011-01-28T13:17:00.077-05:00] [DISCOVERER] [ERROR] [UPGCMP-00046] [upgrade.DISCOVERER] [tid: 11] [ecid: 0000IrDptje8dp8LriXBiY1DGkSI000002,0] Component DISCOVERER is not present in app_registry.
[2011-01-28T13:17:00.078-05:00] [DISCOVERER] [ERROR] [] [upgrade.DISCOVERER] [tid: 11] [ecid: 0000IrDptje8dp8LriXBiY1DGkSI000002,0] Cause: Repository upgrade component-specific software module detected that a component was missing an entry in the OracleAS 10g APP_REGISTRY view. This error condition will cause the examination phase of upgrade to fail. Action: Verify that the database being upgraded contains an OracleAS metadata repository. If the problem persists notify Oracle Support Services.
