Connection to SSO URL to Essbase Data Source in Smart View Fails With Error "Cannot retrieve SSO token for External user from Essbase" (Doc ID 1303561.1)

Symptoms

The Smart View connection via Analytic Provider Service (APS) URL works successfully using servername:13080/aps/SmartView when connecting with Siteminder login attribute of "TMSbase64GUID".

The problem occurs when using the SSO URL, as in http://<SSO_SERVER_NAME>/aps/SmartView, in the Smart View Data Source connection. The SSO user login will return the error "Cannot retrieve SSO token for External user from Essbase" "Do you want to connect with user name\password" and if you select 'Yes' then you will be prompted for user name and password.  If you select 'No', then the same error re-occurs.

The APS logs, which were enabled in debug level, display the following:

"ERROR [[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)']: - Time: Tue Mar 08 12:45:45 PST 2011, Cannot retrieve SSO token for External userVYK7oOANAdyAtAAAR7y6ng== from Essbase.Analytic Server Error(-1): Single Sign On Function Call [CssGetTokenfromUsername] Failed"

Further, the Essbase server displays the following error:

"Error 1051205 processing request [Get token for user] - disconnecting" is written in the Essbase server log.
