Error 'Violation of PRIMARY KEY Constraint' when You Update a Property That Has Already Failed a Validation Test (Doc ID 1315618.1)

Last updated on JULY 28, 2016

Applies to:

Hyperion Data Relationship Management - Version 11.1.2.0.00 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You have a real-time Validation applied to a hierarchy. If you try to assign a value to a property that contravenes the business rule expressed in the Validation, the Validation prevents your saving that value. However, from then on you cannot assign any value to the property because you get an error when saving property changes:

Error saving Properties
The server returned an error processing UpdateLocalProp:
Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint
'PK_RmNodePropLocal'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.RM_Node_Prop_Local'. The statement has been terminated.
