Hyperion EPM: Process Error In Workspace When Workspace Web Application Is Clustered. (Doc ID 1324026.1)

Symptoms

In a clustered environment with workspace web application distributed across multiple servers, users who login in to workspace may get a variety of errors.

Typical Error Messages follow:

  1. Immediately after login a user may get the following error:
    The startup document specified does not exist in the repository. Select a new startup document on the General preferences tab.”
  2. When clicking on the Explore module you may see the following error:
    “Process Error”
  3. Go to File > Preferences and you may see the following error:
    “The default Explore folder could not be found.  Select a default Explore folder on the Explore tab”
  4. When a user logs out of workspace, they may again see the following error:
    “Process Error”

In this scenario the Application server is websphere 6.1 and Web server is Apache.
