When using DRM Error: "ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name" (Doc ID 1331788.1)

To help troubleshoot TNS name resolution issues (ORA-12154) encountered when using DRM.

This error is often seen when the Oracle database client has either:

  1. Not been correctly configured and the instance has not been added to the tnsnames.ora file.
  2. There are multiple tnsnames.ora files on the file system of the DRM application server and the 'wrong' tnsnames.ora is being used for lookup.
Note: This is note is not relevant for DRM 11.1.2.x.xx and above as the Oracle database client is no longer needed in these releases.
