Connecting To Essbase From FR Studio On Standalone Workstation Error: "Error getting CSS support information for driver [HssEssDriver][[ com.hyperion.ap.APException"

11.1.2 FR Studio running on a stand-alone workstation/desktop connecting to Server using Network Address Translation (NAT) and running behind a firewall fails to connect to Essbase server.with "Unable to connect to server" error in FR Studio and an error similar to:

    [SRC_CLASS: com.hyperion.reporting.client.HRAdmHelper] [SRC_METHOD: getAppsDbs] Error: 
    Error getting CSS support information for driver [HssEssDriver][[
    com.hyperion.ap.APException: [4010] Error: Error getting CSS support information for driver 

is logged in FRClientLogging.log on the FR Studio machine. 

NOTE: FRClientLogging.log is normally located under Oracle\MiddleWare\EMPSystem11R1\diagnostics\logs\FinancialReporting. 


Specific communication ports must be opened through the firewall in the customer environment and the Hyperion products configured to limit communication to the specified ports.  Retrofitting a firewall into an existing environment or changes to existing firewall settings or Hyperion port could cause this issue to occur/reoccur.

On Windows OS, some of the configuration setting for the FR Web Application are applied by adding/editing Windows Registry settings.  Redeploying the FR Web Application resets the registry settings to default/deletes any settings that have been added.  This can cause connectivity and performance issues to reoccur after the the changes were initially applied.
