Goal
Within Oracle Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.1, it's possible to open URLs from within a Task List or custom Menu items. For generic instructions see Hyperion Planning Administrator's Guide, available for download from EPM Documentation Library.
By design, Task List and Menu Items of type URL are opened in a separate browser window. However since users usually access the Oracle EPM system through Workspace, it's desirable to have the possibility to open the those URLs within a separate Workspace tab.
With this "How To" you will learn how to modify the Financial Reporting (FR) and Web Analysis (WA) SmartCut URLs to open the referenced report to within a separate Workspace tab.
This is a workaround, which causes a separate browser window to appear briefly. An enhancement request 13603879 has been logged to provide this functionality in a future EPM release.
