Symptoms
When you run a Financial Reporting report which uses an Essbase data source, the report fails with the error:
The Database Connection could not be found: __DTS__<UUID of datasource>
Only reports using substitution variables are affected. The FRLogging.log file (under Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\servers\FinancialReporting0\logs) shows error similar to:
[2011-08-11T11:14:42.622-04:00] [FinancialReporting0] [ERROR] [] [oracle.EPMOHPS] [tid: 27] [userId: <anonymous>] [ecid: <ecid>] [APP: FINANCIALREPORTING#11.1.2.0] Cannot get variable. Essbase Error(1051083): Substitution variable CurYr does not exist[[com.essbase.api.base.EssException: Cannot get variable. Essbase Error(1051083): Substitution variable CurYr does not exist.
Changes
Any of the possible scenarios:
- The reports were migrated into an environment where the relevant substitution variables have not yet been defined.
- The report or the substitution variables have been edited in such a way that they are no longer compatible.
- If an Essbase cluster has been deleted and re-added, this can cause substitution variables to become undefined.
