Symptoms

Performing any update task like translations, data loads, data entry, consolidations in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) Application fail. Pop-up message includes detail like

An Unknown Error Has Occurred In The HsvDSData2 Object.

Review of System Messages or HsvEventlog will show more detail like

Unable to update data timestamps. Multiple servers may be out of time synchronization by more than <XXX>.000000 seconds.

where XXX is greater than 300.

When time stamps are off by more than 300 seconds, the following error will be logged in HsvEventlog:

Unable to update data timestamps. Multiple servers may be out of time synchronization by more than %f seconds.

When time stamps are off 61 to 300 seconds, the following warning is logged:

Updating data timestamps. Multiple servers may be out of time synchronization by more than %f seconds.

When time stamps are off 1 to 60 seconds, the following information message is logged

Updating data timestamps. Waiting %f seconds for current time to be greater than the old timestamp.

Changes

HFM application server(s) was allowed to run during daylight savings time change, possibly incorrect manual time update or in a multiple HFM application server environment, server times have drifted apart by more than 300 seconds.
