Accessing Discoverer 11g Plus/Viewer from EBS Fails With Error ORA-12154: TNS:Could Not Resolve The Connect Identifier Specified (Doc ID 1354848.1)

Symptoms


After setting connection for Discoverer 11g to E-Business 11i or 12, connection doesn't works from Core EBS Application links, they returns error :

Connection Error.
- Oracle BI Discoverer is unable to authenticate using the password provided. This can happen due to an invalid password or because the password was lost while using back, forward, or refresh in your browser. Enter the password again to continue.
- Failed to connect to database - ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified



The applications ICX profiles are well configured and the same connection works fine from Discoverer standalone connection (ie. http://servername.domain:port/discoverer/viewer) and from sql*plus with same username/password@dbalias.

This problem occurs in an Oracle Applications environment that is Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) aware.
