Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) Desktop Client Crashes When Deleting a Dimension Member (Doc ID 1358139.1)

Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) Desktop Client crashes when user attempts to delete a dimension member using options Remove from parent or Delete from dimension. The following error message appears for 32-bit clients:

Unhandled win32 exception occured in HFM.exe [3504]

In the Windows Event Viewer we can see the following entry:

Faulting application hfmexe, version 11123082, faulting module
oleaut32dll, version 5126006058, fault address 0x00004fd1

Debugging this issue with DrWatson will produce the following error message:

The application, C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialManagement\Client\hfmexe
, generated an application error The error occurred on 08/03/2011 22:43:50703 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 77124FD1 (OLEAUT32!SafeArrayDestroy)
