Symptoms

It is not possible to open any Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) applications.  The following error message is shown:

The Server process could not be started because the configured identity is incorrect. Check the username and password.

This error occurs when logging in through Workspace or the Windows Client for HFM.  The error occurs for all users and all applications. 

On HFM application server, the HFM application server processes (HSXServer.exe, CASSECURITY.exe HSVDatasource.exe) are not starting. In the server system event log, the following error message will be recorded:

Event ID: 10004 Source: DCOM
DCOM got error "Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer." and was unable to logon DCOMUser in order to run the server:

Where DCOMUser is your configured DCOM User.

Changes

Some change occurred related to the dcom user.
