How to get a Thread Dump for the Planning Server (Doc ID 1389584.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 31, 2012

Applies to:

Hyperion Planning - Version: 11.1.2.0.00 and later   [Release: 11.1 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When Planning, a Java application, fails it is often useful to be able to perform a thread dump to find out exactly what is happening in the JVM. This is especially useful when a JVM refuses to exit cleanly.

A thread dump will show you which methods (and lines) are currently being executed and therefore give you a good place to start looking for problems along with the Planning log files.
