Symptoms


When using Hyperion Planning 11.1.2 and Smart View 11.1.2 with Excel 2010 32-bit on Windows 7 32 bit client computers, the following error occurs when attempting to add a shared services URL (http://<servername>:19000/workspace/SmartViewProviders)  to the connections :


"Error while retrieving information from Hyperion Shared Service"

The same error is reported when trying to add a  Provider Service connection using the aps url.
