Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) relies on DCOM communication between HFM client and HFM server as well as between HFM application servers in a multi-server environment. If DCOM connections are blocked or dropped then HFM applications will not function properly. This article will provide some basic troubleshooting steps to verify if DCOM connections are allowed between the necessary tiers.

The troubleshooting utility referenced in this article is provided by Microsoft. If this utility shows DCOM communication is failing, then it may be necessary to contact Microsoft support to resolve the issue.
